Robots improve work ergonomics

A company that thinks and acts responsibly weighs up its investments from many angles – and wellbeing at work is definitely at the top of the list.

Fiblon is a family business founded in 1979, currently managed by the family’s second generation. First there was just one man with a knife, a two-by-four, and a roll of nonwoven fabric – now the factory is a highly automated facility with high-tech production lines.

The customer is at the heart of everything we do, and we listen to them carefully, because everything we do must serve our customers. Our operations are also guided by our values: the joy of work, superior customer experience, respect for the environment, and profitability.

Even more important than our smartly developed and functional products are the extensive experience, responsibility and high-quality service that come with them.

We want to do business that we can be proud of. That’s why being responsible is a matter of honor for us. We offer our customers a solution that differentiates them from their competitors, while ensuring that the chosen solutions provide the correct functionality. It ensures that people only use the necessary amount of material and that unnecessary waste is minimized.

We are constantly investing in making our production more sustainable. We have used low-energy solutions for a long time, and production yield has been our key business metric for three decades. Responsibility is reflected in investments in many ways. In 2023, we renewed one of our production lines and, as a result, recycled 15,000 kilos of cast iron structures for reuse. The renewal also reduced the electricity consumption of the line by up to a third.

Our latest investment also includes a completely new robotic palletizing system. This investment will improve work ergonomics and increase efficiency. Reducing repetitive work also improves wellbeing at work and prevents sick leave. Robots have been part of Fiblon’s workforce for decades. If you would like to know more about what our production looks like and how we operate, you can watch our latest production video here.

A company that thinks and acts responsibly weighs up its investments from many angles – and wellbeing at work is definitely at the top of the list. At Fiblon, investing in wellbeing at work will remain an important focus in the coming years.

The pallet robotics investment is co-funded by the European Union.

Fiblon manufactures napkins and cleaning wipes for professional use and acts as a source of information on etiquette and table manners as well as responsible napkin production for restaurants, cafés and the media.
